Summary
The Master Plumber -Utility Permitting & Compliance Specialist manages all permitting processes for utility construction projects, including waterline, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and fire line systems. Serving as the Responsible Master Plumber (RME), this role represents the company during fire marshal inspections and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. While the primary focus is permitting and compliance, the position also provides secondary oversight of quality control for utility work to support safe, high-quality, and productive operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Master Plumber – Utility Permitting & Compliance Specialist will be competent in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, high quality, and productive (SSQP) manner. Requirements
Required:
- Active Texas Master Plumber License
- Strong knowledge of utility permitting processes, particularly in Houston and surrounding areas
- Two years of experience with sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, and fire line systems
- Familiarity with fire marshal inspection requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work full-time and on-site
Preferred:
- Previous experience serving as an RME for a utility or construction company
- Background in municipal or private infrastructure projects
- Experience with quality control processes in utility construction
