Summary

The Risk Coordinator I is responsible for performing tasks required for assisting in the effective implementation of risk management, insurance, claims and CIP policies and procedures. The Risk Coordinator I collaborates with all Department team members, company safety and operations personnel, insurance company claims representatives, insurance brokers, and other vendors

Roles and Responsibilities

The Risk Coordinator I will possess competency in the following areas to perform her/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner.   • Prepares CIP enrollment forms for the Baker Family of Companies and ensures receipt of confirmation of enrollment
  • Assists with client insurance certificate documentation, ordering system, and assists others to obtain and process requests and approvals
  • Reviews subcontractor certificates for compliance and communicates with subcontractors, insurance agents and project personnel until they are compliant
  • Proactively participates in the accident and incident reporting process by reviewing initial accident reports. Reviews information for accuracy, communicates corrections, follows established procedures, maintains electronic information and inputs into the appropriate claims system, follows to ensure prompt reporting of claims to third party vendors, and obtains clarification if required
  • Assists Senior Risk Coordinator in administration of a Risk document library for common documents such as manuals, policies, procedures, and forms and work with users in cataloging, depositing, obtaining, and retrieving, required information from the library 

Requirements

  • Associate degree and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with handling diverse individually assigned project work plus filing, scanning, and copy work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Limited travel required
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish a plus

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats
  • Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks 
  • Good listening skills
